Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy creates fast, natural change in your thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviors.

When most people think of Hypnosis, they think of stage hypnosis or hypnosis for entertainment. It’s the type where people cluck like a chicken, think they’re drunk at a bar or dance exotically.

Hypnotherapy and stage hypnosis both utilize hypnosis (aka a trance state) to create dramatic changes that take hold almost instantly. However Hypnotherapy takes the power of hypnosis and turns it into a superpower for good.

Imagine using Hypnosis to feel better about your life, better about yourself, to release stress and anxiety, to feel relaxed in your body, to feel empowered and bold, or to let go of the negative emotion that you’ve been harboring against that certain person in your life.

Using Hypnotherapy, together we can achieve all this and more.

What is Hypnotherapy like?

Hypnotherapy feels good. You’ll feel relaxed, calm, like you’re able to step outside of your issues and see them from new angles. During our sessions you’ll be awake and aware the whole time, talking with me about your experience, revealing as much or as little as you’d like.

You can think of hypnotherapy like meditation with an agenda - where your conscious mind, the part that’s always judging and commenting, quiets down and your subconscious mind, the part that’s responsible for so much of what’s happening “underneath the surface” becomes accessible.

During our sessions together, we’ll use hypnosis as a foundational “state” from which to work. I’ll guide you through visualizations and exercises to create new neural pathways in your brain, replacing and reshaping old thought patterns, feelings, and habit loops.

The Science of Hypnotherapy

Science backs hypnotherapy. It’s taught and used at the Mayo Clinic, Medical Schools and some of the most prominent hospitals in the US and around the globe. There’s also been A LOT OF RESEARCH that proves the efficacy of Hypnotherapy for working with specific issues.

Hypnotherapy creates change via three aspects of your body’s neurology.

  1. Parts of your brain react the same whether something’s imagined or real. We see this in fMRI studies.

  2. Our brains conserve energy by generalizing from a handful of specific experiences.

  3. Neural pathways can change and be rewired over time, also known as neuroplasticity.

Our sessions (1) use your imagination to create (2) new, specific experiences for your brain to generalize from (3) that affect existing neural pathways via neuroplasticity.

Is everyone Hypnotizable?

Yes! Anyone who wants to be hypnotized can be. The only people who can’t be hypnotized are those who don’t want to be hypnotized. Everyone else can be hypnotized. The depths and response levels do differ from person to person.
